It's been a while since I've posted.  There seemingly hasn't been much exciting about the movies lately.  Even the Oscars were kind of bland.  But as we approach the summer movie season, there will be much to discuss.

In the meantime, check out a trailer that's (ahem) making a splash:

And if there's any upcoming movies you'd want to see reviewed or discussed here...please reach out.  (Just as long as it's not Transformers 3, thankyouverymuch.)

I like how you made it so I could watch the video on the iPad.

I didn't mean to. But I have one (old school version) and I usually can't watch videos on it because of that little lack of Flash thing. So annoying. Anyway, I was excited I could watch it. And I hope you get yours soon.

It's okay Diggy.  It should be here in a few days.  I'm like a kid on Christmas.

I am excited about Paul, Jane Eyre, and Super 8. I have recently determined that movies I would actually like generally seem to me to be too much "work" to watch. They're sad, or thought provoking, or whatever. But movies that are light and fluffy I almost always hate. My Netflix recommendations and queue are at complete odds. Basically I have the same relationship with movies that I have with snack foods. I am not really sure what to make of this issue.

McGlory I have similar issues.  I am attracted to pop culture films and tend not to watch "important" or "arty" or "thoughtful" stuff.  I hid in the other room as WonderWife™ watched Blue Valentine last night.

Super 8 is going to rule.  I'm sure I'll be writing about that soon.

Seriously, I know I would probably like Blue Valentine and I have zero desire to see it. It's insane. I'm ok with investing mental work into theatre, or dance, or music... but movies for me have always been a guilty pleasure. So if they're work, I get mad. Yet, I don't LIKE bad movies. Sigh. Super 8 is essentially Cloverfield with cute kids instead of hipsters (yay!), the dad from Friday Night Lights (yay!), and no shaky cam (yay!). How can it fail?

McGlory...While I share your enthusiasm for Super 8, I have to disagree with your assessment of it.  I don't think it's quite a Cloverfield retread as much as it is a nostalgia film for the Amblin flicks of the 80s (like Goonies and such).  Where kids could act like kids and curse, the music swelled, the adults were clueless of what the kids knew and magic and aliens could exist.  It's JJ Abrams doing early Spielberg.  How can it fail?
