Hey, Neal. I'm considering a vaporizer, but I've tried the glass dome and was not impressed. Is the Silver Surfer really all that?

Well, I've been surfing happily for six years now, and I show no signs of stopping, though the company has also done everything it can to encourage product loyalty by occasionally sending me free paraphernalia. Honestly, some of my stoner friends consider using the Surfer a lot of work. You have to heat the wand a certain way and then you have to leave it for a certain amount of time. If you miss the window, the weed burns. But if you calibrate everything just right, the vapor tastes so delicious and sweet. Then you're super-baked until you go to bed. Also, as always, you're not inhaling carcinogens.

As an ancillary issue, I know that this particular questioner is about to become a dad and is therefore worried about how people will perceive him as a dad and a stoner. It's definitely possible to smoke too much weed. I've been guilty of that myself at times. In fact, I'm currently on a hiatus because I got this big bag of Super Silver Haze, spent a week baked out of my wits, and my thoughts started turning negative and evil. When that happens, it's time for a break. But if you're moderate and careful with your usage, it's no different than having a nice highball after a long day's work.

Does the world judge a dad who drinks two beers at the end of the day, or a mother who sometimes takes Valium to go to sleep at night? Well, maybe a little, but not with the scorn it reserves for stoner parents. If it relaxes you, and it doesn't impinge upon your responsibilities, then you must get high, stoner daddy!

Random blog commenters sometimes ask: But what a fire were to break out in your house while you were stoned? You wouldn't be able to think clearly, they say. First of all, I don't believe you should live your life assuming that a fire could break out at any second, even if you live in Southern California. Second, if it did start, there's no guarantee that you'd be able to act more responsibly sober. Third, that's why the Obama stimulus package funds local fire departments. Of course, if that fire started because you fell asleep while smoking a joint, that's another story, and another reason why you should buy a vaporizer.

I really believe that the best way to handle this is as follows: stoned fire drills.

and please have Regina video them.

Perhaps I should suggest this to The Surfer and his BFF (dirty hippy french guy). Honestly I hadn't been worried about the carcinogens until you just mentioned it! I should check the life insurance policy...

I just wish the weed didn't stink so much! Ugh.

Regina I heart you that is the very best way a gal can complain about her husband's weed.

JTC I second that. My almost three year old gives me fits of laughter at bedtime on a normal day, when I'm tired. I'd be in big trouble if I had to deal with her when stoned.

I really don't get all the 'hype' about mj accesories. I have tried too many to count and I find that I get the same results by blowing smoke into a baloon and passing it around! Joke, har hark!
No really though, According to recent research the best and most beneficial way to enjoy cannabis is in food, because it is the cannabinoids in the stuff that have all of the beneficial properties and none of the tars. As for the judgement of the world look where it's gotten us so far, need I say more?
Also, I really think that the ones who 'judge' are not thinking clearly, because if they were they would realize that the use and abuse of prescription drugs, which can actually hurt you, would not be as high as it is if mj were legalized and it would also put a big dent in the cost of healthcare coverage, as it is free. I mean where I live mj is a way of life, aside from being one of the biggest cash crops that the state of ca has or will ever have. I could go on for dayz, but, I talk too much so good day all.
