- My daughter saw a Hasidic man in one of those round furry hats and yelled, "Mama, that man has a silly hat!" I told her that just because she was seeing it for the first time, it didn't make it silly, and that it wasn't nice to yell out such judgements because they could hurt feelings. She said, "But Mama, it IS a silly hat" and wouldn't budge on the point.

- Consumerism. Mommy wars. Gender norms. Single mother stigma. Idiocy.

- The same person I am now, just less amazing and less exhausted. More hungover, certainly.

I've always had really terrible, heavy periods. Their only positive quality is that they have been regular, for the most part, every 26 days. But they are intense and I get migraines, indigestion, cramps, back pain, and extreme mood swings, not to mention severe acne. That has definitely been wearing on me.
