StitchyWench replied to Herasmus B. Dragon's discussion 'Sneaking around'
I'm so glad to hear it. I think that is a fabulous solution! And thanks HBD. We have it set up now that she will leave that school at the end of the year (we didn't want to disrupt her completely in the middle of the school year), that…

As for double lunches, these kids get like 15 minutes to consume their lunch. It's possible she just hates your packed food and dumps most (if not all of it) in favor of school lunch. I know my son has done that many times. Sandwiches get…

I don't know if I can stress to you enough how greatly I encourage you to NOT say a thing. Nothing she is doing sounds unhealthy to me. Many per-pubescent girls get a little pudgy before they sprout their womanly curves. That you care to take…

I think it really depends on the holiday, too. New Years Eve is a party day, weddings are a party, so that's a cool wedding day. Thanksgiving Day would be creepy, but you could serve turkey and pie and that could be fun.

I'm so glad you're okay!  It's hard to listen to your body sometimes when you know something's wrong but don't have time to deal with it, but I'm glad you did.  Now you just need to keep on being healthy for…

I don't know who Nancy Grace is, but I'm glad you're healthy and the polyp is out! I've had a lot of fun with procedures involving my lady bits last fall due to unexplained infertility, so I know how lovely the tests are. It must…

So glad you got good news and that you listened to Nancy Grace. Now THERE are three words I never thought I'd hear coming out of my mouth!

So glad it all turned out ok. Don't know what to think about the fact that Nancy Grace was actually wise, though...

When you deftly dodged the questions about the nature of your surgery, I figured it was something like this. So glad you got good news!

Yeah, this was not for fb! I have friends and family who knew and I liked posting vague updates for them, as opposed to having to sit through ten conversations that might make me cry!

Oh, joy!  Good results!  I was concerned when you mentioned the surgery on FB without any info, but now we know why.  So glad everything turned out well!  I hope everything feels better soon.

I'm so glad you got a great result! And I'm so so glad that it didn't take a really long time (even if it must have felt like EONS!) The waiting can be worse than anything else because you can't DO anything about it.

That sounds like a nightmare.  But I'm glad it was nothing serious and that you're fine.

Nancy Grace, of all people, put me on a scary path towards being healthy **TMI lady stuff involved.

Several months ago, Nancy Grace was on my TV telling us ladies to listen to our bodies and tell our GYN when we have something that just doesn't seem right  - she did and it brought her a health scare, but the outcome was good. Now, usually I wouldn't listen to any advice from Nancy Grace, but I was about to go in to my GYN for my annual appointment and I had been feeling not right for quite a long time.

So I told my Gyn that I had been feeling not quite right, sex wasn't…

Going to a Miley Cyrus concert - deserve mother of the fucking year award!

Posted on September 10, 2009 at 8:18pm 8 Comments

My husband called this afternoon to tell me that his boss had two tickets to the Miley Cyrus concert Monday, and of course can't (isn't crazy so doesn't want to) go. This is how I became the lucky recipient of two tickets to the concert - one for Ri and one for me.

Ri is not a fan of Miley's (thank goodness), but she does want to go, of course. Metro Station is the opening act, and she doesn't think Miley is the WORST thing ever. So I'm going - yay me!

When They Finally Start Cleaning Up the Poop

Posted on August 4, 2009 at 9:09am 4 Comments

I was reading the blog about G-Force. I have to admit, I'm not a big movie person, and even less of a kids' movie fan. But one thing really struck me as I read this blog post - it only holds true for little kids. I don't really have a "little kid" anymore. Ro is still kind of little, he only weighs about 45 lbs, but he's almost 8-years-old. And Ri is nearly as tall as I am. But their height doesn't define their bigness for me, the degree to which they help care for the animals… Continue
