Profile Information

About Me:
Feminist artist-writer/eccentric, reclusive, non-conformist, revolutionary. Part-time, non-custodial parent to one, potential full-time, custodial parent to more and future art student.
What's something about your kid(s) that makes you happy?
My son's laughter is like a golden bell covered in crystal raindrops, ringing and raining shattering joy and perspective. His awkward, quirky personality and sense of humor help to drive and develop the engine of my fulfillment, growth and character.
What's your most recent kid-related public humiliation?
Nothing light-hearted and non-threatening enough to suit the implied spirit of this inquiry, unfortunately.
What about contemporary parenting culture pisses you off the most?
The rigid, inflexible, impenetrable social/cultural mandate that female human beings voluntarily, gleefully, gratefully, masochistically even, flatten themselves into numb, reflexive, reactionary, passive, weak, perpetually terrified and dependent one-dimensional, servile caricatures (in general, but especially with respect to childrearing) for the remainder of their natural lives to be granted the 'privilege' of parenting according to the suffocating, backwards, mind-blowingly oppressive and woman-loathing dictates of a pathologically patriarchal, conservative, domination/power-obsessed society.
Who were you BEFORE you became a parent?
The exact same person I am now, in may ways. Parenting has enhanced (as in added depth/complexity to), not erased, my identity. See above.
What are you nerdy about?
Feminism, art, film, food, solitude, radical politics, parenting, sex, polyamory, writing, blogging, books, self-directed living, non-conformity, dropping out/in, self-love, chosen family, non-custodial parenting, social constellations/exclusion.
Favorite music/books/TV/movies:
Music: anything that makes my heart sing.
Books: anything by Andrea Dworkin/Clarissa Pinkola Estes/Marjane Satrapi/Inga Muscio.
TV: Don't have cable, don't like television, do indulge in some Dr. Who via Netflix. No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain has also become a recent (again) obsession (though I'm not exactly sure why as the man is a douche of epic fucking proportions...).
Movies: Anything french, independent, experimental, odd or interesting (in an expansive, woman-centered, genuinely thought-provoking way).
OPTIONAL: Do you have a sex life?
Of course. I define as an androgynous, lesbian autosexual. My primary lover at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, is me. :)
