About Me:
I'm a working and homeschooling 27 year old single mama to a nine year old girl, a six year old boy, and a nursling due in May.
What's something about your kid(s) that makes you happy?
They love each other and do sweet little things for me, like making me breakfast when I don't want to get up for work.
What's your most recent kid-related public humiliation?
My daughter announced to our neighbors that my cat had worms, and that she hopes we don't have them too!
What about contemporary parenting culture pisses you off the most?
The marketing of toxins and other crap, encouragement of a disposable culture, the lack of education in public schools, indoctrination, ignorance of parents surrounding nutrition, I could go on and on and on.
Who were you BEFORE you became a parent?
A sixteen year old party girl.
What are you nerdy about?
Writing, big time.
Favorite music/books/TV/movies:
I love all kinds of music. My faves are reggae, soul, conscious hip hop, and anything un-genre-able. I also love to read, my favorite books are Les Miserables, The Stand, The Teachings of Don Juan, and 100 Days of Solitude. I don't watch TV, but the fave movie I've seen is Oh Brother Where Art Thou. Just saw Coraline and loved it.

A wonderful sex life with a very sexy fiancee.

I'm pregnant!

Posted on September 23, 2009 at 6:03pm 10 Comments

I just found out today. I'm only about four weeks along, so not really experiencing any symptoms yet. I'm so excited! I can't wait till my bf gets home so I can tell him he's gonna be a daddy! We've only been trying for two months, so this is really exciting!

My kids will be 10 and 6 when the new baby is born. Any ideas on how/when to tell them?

Hi!

I'm just posting this blog to introduce myself. I'm a single mama with a couple of awesome kiddos. I gave birth to my nine year old daughter when I was 17. Her father is not in the picture at all, don't really know where he is, actually. My five year old son was born in a birthing tub at home when I was 21, and spends most afternoons with his daddy.

My kids are extremely aware and intelligent, and my daughter is a staunch activist. She spends a lot of time going to rallys, marches,… Continue
