Hi Everybody!               I've been poking around(LURKER!)  the boards since yesterday, but, since my membership is approved, I wanted to introduce myself. I haven't found any designated place for…Continue

"I understand that being told you can't have kids the natural way is heartbreaking, but try not to despair. I know so many people who have had IVF with good results--me included! While IVF is no walk in the park, it's also not terrible and…"

"I think it's pretty normal to feel heartbroken and to mourn when you've been given news that breaks a dream.  I am sorry for your loss, and hope that whatever path you choose next gives you some peace and happiness."

Talking To The Doctor (Again!) Help!

Back story: My mother has some serious issues, and had me convinced at 18 that I had a LOT of issues that I did not. (Had me diagnosed at 11 with bipolar disorder by taking me into the emergency room after I downed an entire bag of pixie sticks and told them I was having a manic episode, just one of many examples.) I was heavily medicated and seriously over-medicated, not to mention abused and neglected. So, thinking it would protect my future children from inheriting the dozen or so diagnosies…See More

Profile Information

About Me:
Twenty-six year old newlywed, married to the love of my life, and, quite possibly, the most patient person on the face of the planet.
No youngins yet (three miscarriages, tubal ligation due to family issues with Munchausen by proxy syndrome, soon to be reversed hopefully!!!) but lots of ideas and plans, and, now, research!
What's something about your kid(s) that makes you happy?
The fact that I may be able to give birth to my own babies someday in the hopefully-not-so-distant future after years of believing it couldn't happen!
What's your most recent kid-related public humiliation?
As there are no little ones in my life yet, this one will have to do: My service dog decided outside wasn't a comfortable place to pass her bowel movement when she was given the ample opportunity, and she preferred the main aisle of the grocery store- right next to the chocolate milk display, of course. -sigh- I had never been so glad I was already uncomfortable making eye contact in public!
What about contemporary parenting culture pisses you off the most?
Women trusting male surgeons who profit from their pain more than they trust their own bodies to do what they were designed to do- That's my biggest one right now.
Who were you BEFORE you became a parent?
Pass.
What are you nerdy about?
Tea. Kids. Parenting. Animals, especially service dogs.
Favorite music/books/TV/movies:
Parenthood- latest addiction in our house. Soul music and country music- nothing too angry. Books on Buddhism, trust-based parenting, animals. My husband is a movie junkie, I personally can't keep track.
OPTIONAL: Do you have a sex life?
Pass!
