You're telling me that's in the First Amendment?

I don't much care about witch craft and masturbation but things like this really bother me about Christine O'Donnell.

Coons said private and parochial schools are free to teach creationism but that "religious doctrine doesn't belong in our public schools."

"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" O'Donnell asked him.

When Coons responded that the First Amendment bars Congress from making laws respecting the establishment of religion, O'Donnell asked: "You're telling me that's in the First Amendment?"

I keep hearing that she represents Real America. When did dumb become synonymous with Real America?

Right about the birth of "Survivor".
I am astounded by her level of support. Truly.
It boggles the friggin' mind!
the stupid burns so much.
If she makes it into the legislature, I'll ... I'll ... I don't know what I'll do. Mail her my Constitutional Law textbook with "READ ME! KISSES, KOMMISH" scrawled across the front? The mind reels.
But she's a "constitutional scholar."

At least, that's what she claims. Honestly, I keep getting more and more cynical and misanthropic about the American voting public. Anybody who would vote for any of those idiots is too stupid to breathe and deserves what they get. Unfortunately, they're going to take the rest of us down with them.
We need a "like" button because I am dying to "like" both kommish and ks's comments.
I declare that henceforth she be referred to as the Dim Witch of The North.
lulz.

I'm not defending her here at all, but...

Nowhere in the constitution does it say anything about "separation of church in state". She should have known, however, that the first amendment protects religious freedom.

I think I'm going to write in "nobody" on the ballot this year.
Yes but...

If she knew of that verbal technicality she would have said that then, not come back with that argument days later after her advisors began to clean up the mess. She's an idiot, period.

This is very true. Again, I'm not defending her at all here, cause frankly, she scares the crap out of me, but the fact that the question was asked, and even Coons didn't even answer it or point out the technical flaw in the question shows they are both idiots.

But yeah, I don't think O'Donnell really cares much about the constitution at all. From what I've seen, she only cares about legislating the bible, and I fear that more than I fear the threat of socialism we are seeing from the democrats in washington.
