...that microwaved bacon would taste so good and be so easy? I always figured it would make a huge mess and would turn out kind of meh but that is not the case. All I did was cover a plate with 2 layers of paper towel, lay the bacon down and cover with another paper towel. 3 minutes later - voila! Crispy, yummy BACON!!!

I saw a technique online from a guy who drapes the bacon over a tall sided glass microwavable bowl. The bowl is set on top of a plate and the grease all drips down into the bowl or onto the plate. I'm going to try that next.

Do you have any "who knew" tips to share?

My mom gave me a microwave bacon hanger last year. It's the best! I almost never cook bacon in the pan anymore.
Can you blame them?

Actually, there is pre-wrapped bacon (of course, I'm probably being naive and you're talking about something sexual) - it's Hormel (I think) microwavable bacon - wrapped 4 slices at a time to microwave and it definitely turns out meh. And it's hella expensive.

I'm so fascinated with the microwaving bacon thing that I'm ordering a microwave bacon cooker thing - this will be so awesome!!! I L-O-V-E bacon but HHHHHHHATE frying it - this will make my life much easier.

I wonder if you can make the bacon mat in the microwave using the same technique.

Me too!

We'll totally be trying this technique out at my house this weekend.
I grew up eating only nuked bacon. I much prefer pan-fried, but I cook it really low so lots of fat renders out and it doesn't spatter everywhere.

It's not a "who knew" but I have found something wonderful. I like that dryer sheets reduce static and make things smell nice. But they're wasteful and expensive, and often too heavily perfumed. When we started using the heater, the static was out of control. I found a solid Bounce bar that attaches to the inside of the dryer, and it's fab. It seems to be less than buying sheets, doesn't smell half as strong, and lasts 4 months.
Have you tried dryer balls? I actually prefer the no-scent, but still fluffy results. ;)

"Do you ever go to make a pork sausage, and find that it's got hairs all over it?" Dead Milkmen

This discussion just made me think of this lyric.

Carry on.
S'okay. We can still eat Kraft Dinner.

Go to Walmart and get the white microwave bacon plate. It has ridges to drain the fat, and with a paper towel over the top you get wonderful crispy bacon with lower fat.
