whatever you do, make sure to close a discussion when you want to have the last word

Honestly. If you want to take your ball and go home rather than actually disprove anything, I guess that's fine. But throwing around insults at the same time while not allowing anyone to respond is childish and usually typical of people who really don't know what they are talking about. It's like throwing out the "racist" card anytime someone says something critical of someone who isn't white.

Well, no, racism is being being critical of someone BECAUSE they're not white (or brown or black or yellow or red or whatever). If you criticize someone while describing them by their race it's hard not to see that as what you're doing.

I don't know which discussion was closed or why, but it was probably because things were getting very heated and far off topic and needed a time out. We all know that concept. Try not to take it personally.

And insults in ALL directions should stop.
Right. That is racist. But when I'm accused of making racist remarks because I expressed frustration with a hospital staff that barely speaks english, that is not racist. I never even gave a hint of the nationality of the hospital staff. They could have been russian or french.

The discussion that was closed was this one:

Basically, JTC decided he did not agree with me, and that he is right, and then said I have no common sense, and then closed the discussion completely, ending it with an insult. Really? That's what adults do? If he wants to refute my claims, then do it with facts, not insults and speculation. What frustrates me is that he is incapable of seeing things other than his way. No matter what anyone says, he is always right, in his mind. To me, closing a discussion like that is him saying "Well, hmmpppfff! I'm right because I say so!"

I guess if that's what's expected around here then I don't know if I want to be a part of things.

Can't we all just get along?
Well, when you basically parrot what the liberals in washington are saying paired with some anecdotal evidence of some moderate muslims that you know, that does seem rather uninformed, as opposed to...I don't know...having read the actual text and related texts in question with a contextual understanding of history and politics at the time of those texts, not to mention the history of the people that follow those texts over the past 1500 years. Wanting to believe one way on an issue doesn't make it right. If you'd rather "know what you know" and not bother to learn from others' experiences and knowledge, and actual books and history, that's up to you.

Right, and you essentially said I'm an uninformed liberal who watches MSNBC. Frankly, if this were Facebook, I'd just block you from posting in my threads -- I wouldn't have "friended" you in the first place. There isn't a similar option here, so please take this as a request to stop posting in any thread I start. After this, I'll refrain from posting in any thread you start. It isn't worth the candle.
Guys, seriously? I know this is called the Playground but what's the point in bullying each other? Neither one of you is going to give. Can't you both just take a cool-down?
Ok. I see how it is. It's ok for JTC to try and call me out on stuff, but when I do it to him, he clams up and I'm the bad guy. I'm not bullying anyone. I'm not the one claiming someone doesn't have "common sense". I bring up valid points, and they are dismissed with the typical "holier than thou/I'm smarter than you and I know what's best for you" attitude, and since I'm the only one that calls it like it is I am made out the be the instigator?
