We saw Thor on Saturday night (when did dinner and a movie become a 4-person thing and not be a double date??). It's the first time we have the kids to a PG-13 movie. I was mostly OK with the movie, but there were some previews I was not comfortable with.
Now, I'm feeling guilty that I named my husband "Loki" on this board. Loki in the movie was such a bad guy! Sorry, hon!
Overall, pretty good flick. Nice humorous touches, really beautiful, and it kept my interest...I give it two thumbs up.
Anyone else seen anything good lately?
PS As a side note, Aliens was on last night....30+ years later and it still makes me squirm!

Permalink Reply by mightyninjamom on May 16, 2011 at 3:53pm 'Aliens' will always terrify me. I saw it at a rather impressionable age and it has some serious staying power! I recently watched 'Red' and thought that it wasn't too bad. There were some nicely choreographed stunts and Bruce Willis still manages to look like a badass. It didn't hurt that Karl Urban was in it. I have a soft spot for that guy.
Helen Mirren...well, what more needs to be said there? Not a damn thing.
Other than that I've gotten sucked into 'Monarch of the Glen'. It's a fun Scottish production. The accents are pretty thick, and sometimes I have to rewind so I can try to decipher!
