Uh... *toes dirt a little with sneaker*.... have any gals on here tried any personal stimulant options for potential improvement of libido? As much as I'm icked out by commercials featuring glowing couples raving about K-Y's latest flame-covered packaging, I have to wonder if that stuff works. Or maybe herbal remedies. Viagra. Anything.

I don't want to admit how long it's been since I've had sex, and I actually share my bed with my husband just about every night. So frankly, I could use all the help I can get, here.

Embarrassedly yours for someone who once had sex with above husband at a truck stop,

Well.... if it's possible to have a drier spell than I was having, I've got it. But there has been crisis after crisis in my family/life, which definitely puts a pall on things. And then I ran out of my birth control pills (snicker, snicker), which I had to get in sample form from my OB-GYN because insurance doesn't cover it... and lo and behold, I suddenly started having sexy dreams.

So I talked to my doc and said I wanted off the Pill. I'm 41, have had sex maybe once a year since my now-six-year-old was born, and have only needed the Pill because I have endometriosis. However, 24 years on the Pill and you're marking time until you need blood pressure meds, so the doc was happy to discuss other options.

If Blue Cross covers it, I'm planning to have my tubes surgically blocked, followed by an endometrial ablation -- resulting in not only permanent birth control, but ideally no more periods at all. Hooray!

Maybe by the time all that is over with (a few months, I think), my household will have stopped having massive crises (sorry, please wait while I laugh until I cry), and then, if I can stand the sight of my husband, I'll jump his bones.

If not, something plastic with a couple of C-batteries will hopefully stand in, so to speak.

Well, phooey.
