Ok, so it's time for "The Talk"--with the grandparents.  The one that says, "no, you may not push your religion on my child."  Any advice?  Well wishes? Kind thoughts?

My parents are Easter Catholics... They did try to get all involved with educating The Miniature about all things Catholic for a minute but I told them in no uncertain terms that he's going to know about all religions, raised in an atheist home, and will be allowed to make up his own mind about these things. They are also aware that a child's custodial parents are the ones who really control who has access to said child. We agreed to one visit to church but they never ended up taking him.

Good luck to you, let us know how it goes.

Both sides of the family are Eastern Orthodox by tradition. We grew up with everyone around us being the same religion by tradition, not faith.

We got married at church both for the fancy ceremony and to please our families and my son is baptized. This being said, my husband is agnostic/atheist and I'm atheist. My mother is atheist and my in-laws aren't too interested in religion, either.

I'm OK with my son going to church for special occasions. I'm OK with him learning about Christianity, just as I plan on telling him about the Greek gods without thinking he'll believe in them.
