It was fabulous! I was very relieved to see that the man appears to either have regrown his leg or at least had enough insurance to get a very realistic prosthetic following the bite.

Stop motion animation is a lot of fun. We've been doing both the paper and the 3-D kind (mostly with Legos) - we use Windows Movie Maker to string the still shots together.

Mistakenly thought it was shot in Australia and that was a kangaroo running across the scene, but glad you pointed out it was a cat.

Speaking of animation, it's the last hours of the very slow (2 frames/hour) animation going on at XKCD. There's s gif of the frames here so you can see the whole thing so far.
