I don't sleep. I crash. I have never really been a good sleeper, and if I do happen to fall asleep, just about anything wakes me up. Both my girls talk in their sleep, granted the content is different, but they still talk. GW also cries, which kills me. I can't bring myself to wake them, so I just pack it to the sofa downstairs and pick up my pallet before they wake up in the morning.

So, I'm told that not sleeping is a bad thing. I get maybe 3-4 hours a night.

Any ideas not involving drugs?

Hmm. I used to just drink myself to sleep back when this bothered me. I don't think there's any real solution other than eliminating the stress that is causing the problem in the first place, which isn't always an option.
Start a Fight Club.
Melatonin (not sure if you consider that a drug), ear plugs, white noise machine...
Earplugs?
Fight Club was Tuesdays and Thursdays, but MW made me give it up as she doesn't like bloody kisses, but I've still managed to keep my six-pack.

The downstairs option is there, but I don't really sleep when I do couch. I've heard about the white noise machines, but I think it might just bug me. MW and GW have both had okay results on Melatonin, I just haven't tried it yet. And the drinking and hooker option is out. I asked but I was shot down.

Swimming use to work, but making time to hit the pool is work. I'm lucky to have any extra time at all with work, school and everything else. What extra time I do have I like to spend it with my girls and I am unwilling to trade sleep for hanging with my ladies.

Thanks for the suggestions.

How can he be sure that he hasn't already started a Fight Club. How are your abs, DW?

Have you considered just giving in and sleeping downstairs intentionally to see if that helps?

That's because everyone knows that hookers go with blow, not drinking.

Sheesh.
Sorry.

You left the cat's nocturnal ramblings out of the list of things that keep you up at night.
Yoga worked for me. I had to do it in the mornings though because on days where I did it at night, it actually had the opposite effect.
No need dude, as you know you rock!

The cat however, has major, major issues. Such as making out with stinky socks, attacking blanket mice (toes) and of course chasing phantom bugs causing uncontrolable laughter to all who witness his desperate acts of feline stupidity. Perhaps a kitty fight club?

Meow, bitches.

guided meditation (any theme) -- works like a charm for restless sorts.
My sure-fire cure for sleeplessness: Don't have children.
