I'm not sure the best medium for having a discussion with you all about what we could do, so if you have ideas for that as well as WHAT we could do, I'd love to hear from you.

I know a few of those in her state have met her, and maybe they have some ideas. I'm on board with whatever the group comes up with.

She may be in the hospital for a while. We need to get Kiwi on board with this, because she is the closest, and will have the best access.
She messaged us to see what our availability would be for possible visits. I think if you wanted to mail a card, or a small gift or something like that, we could organize a drop-off, so she would know her OS friends are thinking of her.

I vote that we figure out what the best present would be (something more fun than flowers), paypal money to one person who can purchase it and get it to Kiwi or MNM (?) or whomever is willing and able to drop it off.
Any idea on presents? I was just perusing her fb page and she comments on drinking tea as a caffeine source. Really good tea?

I think a combined gift is the way to go, too and I'm happy to PayPal money to someone, or I can collect it and mail it to SL and her family, although if someone (MNM, Kiwi?) is willing to make the in-person trek, that would be very nice. I'm a fan of the tea idea, but other suggestions are welcome, too. I was also thinking it would be nice to do something for her family. Off the top of my head, I can think of things like house-cleaning service, or a food service (you know, those businesses that prepare meals for you), but it does sound like they have nearby friends and family to help. What about a gasoline gift card or something to help with the travel between MD Anderson and their home?
I don't know. I just feel so inadequate.

What about a basket with some gentle lotions/oils as well as the tea? A good foot rub goes a long way when you can't get around much.
