Random thoughts...

It's been awhile since we had a thread where we just posted random thoughts, hasn't it?
1. I just met Sockiboo in LA at a conference. Couple of things, her paper was really good and my friend and I spent 30 minutes talking about it and other issues it brings up. Also, am mega-jealous of how she looks 5 weeks post baby. Baby was not there. Sad.
2. I am disturbed that Eminem song about tying a woman to a bed and burning the house down if she leaves him is on the Offsprung music thing at the bottom of the page I just discovered.
3. I had a great time, but am super glad to be home.

Daria - that sounds like fun! I would love to spend a week with someone else's garden.
Very sorry to hear about the bf, Ruth. That sounds agonizing.

My random thought of the day is that cable is insane! We all spent the night at my parents' last night and L spent the evening clicking around on the tv in their computer room while I worked on a conference paper. I looked over every so often to see what the hell was making the random yelling/ screaming/roaring sound and it seemed like most of what he was watching involved either Snooki or animals eating other animals. After that subliminal backdrop, I dreamed last night that I was in a reality tv show called Zombie Cheerleader Flight of Death, where you had to run through an airplane cabin full of a bunch of zombie cheerleaders with hatchets. Then my dream shifted to a conference where a colleague and I were taking surreptitious cell-phone pictures of Christopher Reeve delivering a paper at the front of the room.

That cable crap eats your brain, man.

I have to take my daughter to the Orthodontists because somehow I've missed her last appointment or two and I finally rescheduled one for today and she really needs to go this time.

My random thought is that I really, really need for Mr. S to take the kids and disappear for a couple of days. I would almost kill for some quiet and a pint of Ben and Jerry's and maybe a couple of bottles of wine with which to enjoy said quiet. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be getting any of those in the next several days.
