Since we are on the new site and all, thought we should check in and see how everyone is doing! Mamaluv has scored first with a new baby girl, how about the rest of you?

I'm doing okay, 9 weeks to go yesterday. Getting tired again which is not conducive to packing for a move to a house we don't have yet. Each time the phone rings, I pray it's the realtor with the perfect house. The new fun is that the kid has turned and so is stretching the sides of my stomach. Hurts to move! But as the doctor pointed out, I don't do enough sit-ups when not pregnant. Waiting to hear for my appt for the obstetrician who will do the c-section. Unfortunately, doesn't sound like I'm going to get the guy I wanted since he is on vacation for the next month or so. Oh well. I am sure this other person is just as good.

How are the rest of you doing? Roomie is off on vacation I know...

Now that I'm home from vacation things are going great! My allergies were going crazy in Illinois. At 15 weeks the only issue I've got is random indigestion and fatigue. My appetite has gone down and I'm eating about half the portions I normally do which is not a bad thing. Pregnant brain has set in in a bad way.

Sailor (who normally doesn't eat chocolate) gets a craving for it everyday. He's got a bit of a belly going but that's pretty normal.

The boys are getting used to the idea that the baby is still a long way off and when it does get her it'll be a lump of a thing that poohs, cries, eats, and sleeps.
I'm about 28 weeks now and while I personally am feeling great (well as great as you can feel when you're 6 months pregnant, working full-time, and chasing a 2 year old), we do know that baby is not doing as great. We found out at our 20 week ultrasound that he has a CCAM on his lung. Basically in non-medical speak, it's a non-cancerous cyst on his lung that is not allowing his lungs to grow like thy should. The good news is that it is only on one of his lungs, it is not affecting the growth or placement of other organs, and based on the size ratio, the prognosis is very good. It just involves surgery on my baby :( So basically since 20 weeks I have been in for weekly ultrasounds, a couple of echos, and a fetal MRI. Friday we meet with the pediatric surgeons and tour the NICU.......to say this pregnancy has been different than the last is quite an understatement.......
Oy Taraw, that's not cool. Will they be able to wait until the baby is born? It's good to hear that the doctors are positive about it. Everyone we met in the NICU was just amazing.

Keep us updated.
Unless the CCAM grows, all we do is wait and continue ultrasounds so that everyone can be prepared for what is still kind of an "unknown" until once baby is born - like depending on how much pressure the CCAM is putting on his lungs he may need immediate assistance with you know, breathing, or he could come out screaming his little head off like "normal".....none of this will be known until after he tries to take his first breath... I am looking forward to meeting more of the team of people who will be caring for baby though.....

Hey, Tara, sorry to hear about your speed bump! Letting you know in advance that ther are several of us here with NICU experience, to love and support you during your *hopefully* short stint in that chatoic environment.

Aw taraw, that's got to be so stressful. I'm glad the prognosis is good but talk about added anxiety when you don't need it. Alan and I are two of OS's NICU veterans -- the Dragon had a lung infection when he was born and was on a ventilator for six days -- so yeah. We're here with ya.

I'm now at 35 weeks with a 4-year-old's birthday party to plan, prep and execute at 37 1/2 weeks. Oh, that I would have gotten it together and had the party much earlier! I'm totally stressed that I'll go into labor the morning of the party.

Other than that, I'm in a lot of pain that I wasn't in last time. I'm just trying to take it easy but, as per usual, have taken on far more in this last month than I really should have. *shrug* I'm working on my To Not-do List as we speak, figuring out what's truly priority and what can wait till the kids go to college.
OOOH! Baby belly photo! I love them! Edamame, I've been waiting for an update from you. Wondering how far along you are!

YAY for pregnancy. Sorry I'm not in your ranks, and yet, happy to not have #3 on the way.

Taraw, I will hold you in my thoughts. Sounds like you are assembling a great team that can handle this.

Taraw, I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. Bug gave me a scare during my first pregnancy but, thank all the powers that be, she came out just fine. The weekly ultrasounds were scary but great at the same time.

I am supposedly ~9 weeks along now but I am definitley much bigger than any 9 week pregnant lady should be. I guess I say that only because my wedding is 2 months away and at this rate I may have to just cut a big hole out of the middle of my dress for the belly to hang out. I am currently homeless and living with friends while Chef is still on the other side of the country trying to finish two home renovations so he can put them on the market and get out here to be with us. The MD house has to sell before we can buy a house out here because neither of us are employed and no one while give us a loan. We're hoping the house in MD sells quickly, it will bring in more money than the one in WV and the houses in that neighborhood having been selling in 1-6 weeks.
Tara, I don't have NICU experience but Mo was born with a dialated kidney which meant a lot of tests once a month starting at a week old. It was diagnosed at 25 and added stress to what should have been a happy time. We understand the stress and I'll be thinking about you and baby when the time comes.

Edamame- maybe your body has a really good memory of how to be pregnant. You've got a wonderful belly going. Mine is mostly displaced fat so I look more pregnant than I really am. It's amazing that something the size of an apple could make my belly look so big.
As weird as it may sound, I actually feel kind of "lucky" that we know about this now and can do as much preparing mentally and emotionally as possible. I know so many of you were thrust into the NICU without warning after the baby was born, I can't even imagine....
It's not weird and it's good that you can prepare yourself and your son about what is going to happen after the new baby is born.

I am doing well. I am 24 weeks and had an appt today- good heartbeat and such. I have only gained 3 lbs this pregnancy. My doctor says she is "Optimistic" about this baby- which is a hell of a lot better than I was hearing a few months ago!
Taraw- I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I am also experiencing a complicated pregnancy and I understand how hard it is. You are in my thoughts and please email or message me if you need to vent.
Edamame- Your belly is adorable!
This reminds me: We want to do an Offsprung Baby Boom section on the home page. If you send me your baby's due date, screen name (if you have one) and gender (if you know and want to share), I'll create a list. Then as the babies are born and photos are posted, we'll update with links to the photos.
