The Halloween costume trade thread got me thinking that we all might save some cash and help each other out by trading good-quality toys, books, and other stuff to give our kids for Christmahanukwanza. I know our cashflow is tighter now than it's ever been and having to pay only for shipping would be a goddessend.

So check out your stash of toys, books, etc. that your kids haven't worn to death, then post your offerings here -- first come, first served, unless you all work out some other creative way of doing it. Photos of items are great.

Arrange for shipping and payment costs one-on-one by PMing each other. Remember you have to be Friends on the site in order to PM.

Merry Christmahanukwanza!

Already (in the Halloween thread) GG has said she has some Thomas the Train stuff, MamatothaMax said, "My mom sent Morgan a circuit set for his birthday and they sent two. It's 8yrs + and never been opened." and ks wrote:

I have 2 or 3 entire sets of Geotracks, with trains and controllers, loads of tracks and bridges, and various stations, loaders, and other bits and bobs that I cleaned out of the boys' room and haven't got a chance to get to the goodwill yet. It's all in really good condition--I think one of the controllers might have stickers on it and one of the mountains lost its railings, but that's about it. I'm willing to give them to a good home where they will get some use.
On those Geotracks, Mr. S has been complaining about them taking up space, so if anyone wants them, please let me know. I don't know how much longer they'll last--he's starting to get impatient about it.
HAHAHAHAHA! We too, fell for the Geotrax trap. That stupid train set took up three of those huge Rubbermaid storage bins.

I will go through the kids' stuff and take an inventory. We have an air hockey table that you can set up on the ground on either hardwood/tile or carpet. I thought the kids would play with it more, but it was not to be. B gets too aggressive for the Little Miss, and then she gets frustrated and refuses to play with him. Le sigh. I'll keep looking for some other stuff as well.
I'll make some time this weekend post some pictures of what I have - yay project!
And we too fell for the Geotrax... El D prefers his old wooden train set. *shrugs*
We didn't actually buy any of it. My cousin, who is N's godmother and spoils him incredibly, got the first two sets and Mr. S's uncle got the third.

I'll let the life duet know about this - he was just agitating about the state of our closet the other day.
Every year we ruthlessly examine what the small one has and donate a bunch of it. I am happy to go through and see what we've got I could offer to others. On the looking for front, small one is really enjoying playing with Fisher Price Little People right now. If anybody has any of them they don't want or need, I'd be happy to pay for postage! :)
I will have to go through some of our other toys and things to see what else I could offer, but one item I know for sure I can put up for grabs is a kid's TP

This is the best picture I could find of it, but I'll try to get some better ones. It's handmade and has been very rarely used. I really thought the kids would love it but most of the time they forget we even have it, so it just stays folded up in the closet. If you have a fort builder though, it's a great gift. And it's collapsable. Free to a good home as long as you're willing to help me pay for the shipping cost. I have no idea what it would be, but I can bring it up to the UPS store and find out if any one is interested
We are interested in all Thomas and Duplo items. I don't think we have much to contribute for toys, though. I'm hanging onto the littler kid things in the event of a second kid. And don't have family dumping lots of toys on us, so we've managed not to have too much excess.

But...I do have shoes, size 8 women. Many are nice, but I have a tendency to buy shoes which I think fit in the store, but once I wear them all day, they don't, so many have only been worn once. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can post or send pictures. They are in the pile for the thrift shop, pay shipping and they yours!
Okay I have an offer for a craft/services trade. Ducky desperately needs some thigh high socks because he has all these footless sleepers and regular baby socks won't stay on his feet.

If there is anyone who is willing to knit or crochet me some, I can trade for astrology services, creativity coaching, or baked goods. Quantity of socks, services, and/or baked goods to be mutually agreed. PM me if you're interested!
Here is a list of videos I have culled from our collection - they are in decent but not perfect shape. They will play in a dvd player.

Aladdin
Beauty and the Beast
Mulan
Dora The Explorer - The City of Lost Toys & The Super Silly Fiesta
Dr. Seuss - Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax, The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat
Scholastic Series - Giggle, Giggle, Quack, Tikki Tikki Tembo, Pete's a Pizza, Make Way For Ducklings, Where the Wild Things Are
The Backyardigans - Surf's Up, The Legend of the Volcano Sisters, Cave Party, Movers and Shakers, Polka Palace Party, Mission to Mars, It's Great to be a Ghost, The Snow Fort

We also have a large assortment of Duplo's and toy cars available. If anyone is interested in any of these items, PM me and I will send photos so you can see what you're getting.
