Permalink Reply by Kiwi on November 14, 2010 at 12:00pm I'll just offer that when I was writing my undergrad thesis on fetal citizenship ten years ago, I researched hospitals in South Carolina that had recently started mandatory drug testing of pregnant women for crack cocaine. Except that only public hospitals did the tests, and they weren't testing for any other drugs or for alcohol or tobacco use. The result was that, as of my writing, 21 women had been criminally prosecuted for (no joke) trafficking drugs to a minor), and of those 21, 19 were black and all were poor. Yet another example of anti-choice and anti-woman rhetoric fucking up families.
