Does anyone else get totally squicked out when they're on the boat in the tunnel and things start whirling and the chicken gets it's head cut off? Totally yucky.

And Gene Wilder is the best.

I've never been able to watch a Gene Wilder movie without being totally creeped out by him. And I always thought the message of that final scene, where he's awful to Charlie, then comes back and is all "J/k, dude, I'm givin' you the place!" was totally morally suspect. Seemed like a shitty thing to do to the one kid who didn't screw up your chocolate factory.
Maybe, but I don't know that his drinking the fizzy lifting drink was out of greed, vice, or obsession like it was with the other kids. And anyway, the moral issue is not who he gave the factory to, but how he did it. I remember him being really mean. Doesn't he yell at Charlie and tell him to get out or something?

Clearly a viewing of Willy Wonka is in order.

I don't think WW knew if his motives were greed, vice, or what have you either (I think, in fact, it was peer pressure from his Grandfather), so he did the yelling thing and then Charlie was all sad face and WW knew he had passed the test.
noooo it's creepy!

Other kids movies people find incredibly creepy? Go.

(I'll offer up Neverending Story)
The Chronicles of Narnia - all of them.

The recent commercial using the "World of Pure Imagination" song makes me nostalgic.
Watership Down

Not meant to be a kid's movie, but The Thief in the Night was shown at all kinds of kid's church events for me. Totally traumatizing. And an earworm (well, for those of us who grew up with it) to go with.
