I saw this the other day.  "She" is pretty much every other mother in the local parenting group I was once part of.  Just add in the in-your-face "you're ruining your child!!!1!" (to the extent that I was accused of "abusing" my son by one of them).

I laughed at the repeated breast pump sounds, though.  I was glad my body responded well to the pump and that I was able to send breastmilk with my Moose while he was at daycare, but I'm even happier to have the contraption packed up and stashed in the back of the closet.

I was so headed down that path. Then I had kids.

I did some of those things. Was that giant mason jar filled with red wine? Then I might identify even more. Luckily I never had to pump in a stall. That's gross.

I've done a lot of those things.  But I like to think I'm more grounded than that, in general.  Like.  To think.  He he.

I've never seen the site before (mamanatural.com), but it's not a joke.  And the woman is, um, very into her faith.  Interesting.

Oh, I certainly did some of those things, too. It's the self-righteousness about them, and the assumption that there's only one right way, that I like to think I dropped once I had kids.

So, I saw that a few days ago. I laughed at the 20 dollar maple syrup, because that's what we buy--and I have said "Ooh, only 20 dollars?" Then I went to the mamanatural site. I thought it was going to be a joke, but no. See, that's what I don't get. I mean I see that she's trying to take the piss out of some of these sayings (which I have heard), but most of these "Shit _____ Say" have been from another point of view.

I guess I'm kind of lost on the point of saying "Oh, we don't HAVE a crib" in a very self-righteous way as a joke, where the understanding is it's OK to HAVE a crib, kumbayah, whatever gets you through the night. But then a few posts into her blog she really *IS* advocating that some of these beliefs are the. only. true. way.  I'm sure she'd say, "Blah blah, everyone makes their own choices, blah blah." But I've met far too many of her ilk that really actually do judge. Oddly enough, most of them had her faith tenfold.

Maybe I'm getting my too-mainstream-panties in a bunch. Spir-u-LINA.

I laughed really hard at that one!  I have said a lot of that but not like a self-righteous jerk.  I thought it was hysterical.  I know a lot of moms who have done a lot of those things but none who have done them all.

I'm getting a little sick of all these spin-off videos but this one did make me laugh. Some of it...err...may have hit a little close to home. But like most people said, I was in my most crunchy mama phase when I was pregnant with my first.

I can't afford $20.00 maple syrup. Sigh.
