I just got back from a prenatal massage. 75 minutes of floaty music and aromatherapy and a really, really good massage therapist. I feel 1000 times better than I did this morning. I should have done it months ago and I should have been doing it regularly ever since. Stupid money anxiety. It was so worth every penny of the $90 I paid that we don't really have.

What should you really do for yourself that you've put off? Why haven't you done it?

TOTALLY! I'm due for one soon. I went for a mani/pedi last week and thought I was going to die from bliss. They had those big chairs with the massager built in and I just sat there.
My wife has had several pregnant customers that come in anywhere every 2 to 6 weeks throughout their pregnancies. All say it has really helped them.
I'm going to start saving for one! (and a pedi)
I lurrrrved working on the pregnant ladies! I sincerely think they appreciated their massages more than anyone else on the planet. Oracle...another good reason for the commune. Service trades would include massages!

I should actually also get a massage. I've been putting it off for stupid reasons, but also because I don't have a regular therapist that I see, and I want to feel like I'm coming off the table with some actual relief.
When I was pregnant I went every two weeks for an hour - it was awesome!!! Also try Trager therapy-- the best thing ever for my bad back.

Also, I can't believe how many massage therapists are on this site. We need some statistics.
NICE! I got one as a baby shower gift when I was about 8 months along and it was AMAZING. It ranked only slightly lower than the best sex of my life for Most Pleasurable Afterglow Ever. The friends that gave it to me were so great they even stuck $10 for cab fare into the card so I wouldn't have to take the bus home after.
i need a massage too. maybe i will allow myself to do it soon. well, i should say, maybe my husband will allow me to spend the money on one soon.

i should note, i am constantly talking him out of spending money. it's only fair i deny myself when constantly denying him. but, to my credit, i can rationalize the hell out of things WAY better than he can.
I got a prenatal massage covered by my insurance when I went to a massage therapist in a chiropractors office. I think they claimed that I was having back trouble (duh! pregnant!) and I just had to pay a $10 co-pay. Unfortunately I didn't find that out until I was 8 1/2 months along, but it was still nice.
dooooooood.. i am SO checking on that!!

Ohh, sounds melty/lovely! I'm glad you treated yourself.

Recently I got a professional haircut. I'd needed one for, oh... a year. They aren't even expensive, I paid 15 dollars. Somehow it just seemed extravagant with the layoff.

Now I want to join the local Y so The Boy and I can go swimming on rainy days. I'll probably put that off until it gets well and truly cold and nasty out. I also want to get my eyebrows waxed. Pie in the sky dream; it would be sweet to go in for laser hair removal treatments and a tummy tuck plus cellulite removal; but that's not happening anytime soon.
