The boys want to be Ghostbusters this year which is totally awesome.  I found some ready made costumes that are affordable (they even come with inflatable proton packs).  My big issue is finding a ghost costume for Finn.  He's 8 months old and it's proving quite the challenge.

First I started off looking for ghost costumes.  I found a couple but we don't want to spend a whole lot on a costume he'll wear 2-3 times. Then I looked for green (for Slimer) rompers/bodysuits/onesies.  It is hard to find one that doesn't have something printed or sewn on.

So I'm putting the challenge to OS.  Does anyone have a green bodysuit?
Is anyone having trouble finding the things they need for a Halloween costume?

Can we help each other out?

1st Kid wants to be Mace Windu. I found him Kid an awesome Jedi robe on Etsy and got the Mace Windu light saber (which is cool enough that I almost want to keep it for myself).

I am now trying to find him something wear beneath it that is light weight because the robe is twill and it will likely be over 80 here on Halloween. I am thinking of an thin tunic top and brown pants. It is proving much harder to find the tunic top than I'd have imagined. I spent big on the robe and light saber because I know those will see a lot of mileage post Halloween and I'm looking to do the tunic rather cheaply. So if anyone has seen anything please direct me.

If anyone would like the Ironman Muscle Suit costume (last year's edition) pictured below it is free to a good home. It's a size medium (7/8)

I spoke too soon. Today we found a slime green Henley and pants. I'll have to sew or knit a hat but that'll be easy.

We did a big costume cleansing last year or I'd have some to offer.

Kiwi, would a polo tshirt work since the sleeves will be covered anyway?
I floated that by 1st Kid already and was told that Jedi's did not wear polo shirts.

If anyone is looking for lightsabers, I got 1st Kid's in store at Toys R Us for $15.99.

They proved hard to find for less than $20 on the internet.

ohmygodohmygodohmygod. The Dragon was not an hour ago asking for an Iron Man costume. He's probably too small for it right now but he was too small for his Batman costume last year and wore it anyway. We just pinned it up and in.

Anyway, we'll totally take the Iron Man costume UNLESS someone else has a kid who wants it, and fits it, now.

It is unclaimed.

What size does the Dragon wear? At the time 1st kid wore this he was in a size small t-shirt at Old Navy and a size 7 regular jean. It looks like it should be easily altered.

Well if no one else comes for before Wednesday, then on Thursday I will send drop it in the mail to you.

Sweet! I need to look and see what we have to offer.

I'm thinking we should do this for Christmahanukwanza too -- list good-condition toys and other kid stuff we have for the taking. If enough people participated, we could all save a bunch of money.

What do you guys think?
I'll have to check the boys' closet to see what is still worth having, but I know that we have Superman, Spiderman, and Batman up there. And I'm pretty sure that those are at least in decent condition. There was also a pirate costume (Captain Jack, minus the hair, which I took off because A didn't want it) and Darth Vader, but I don't know that those have survived the dress-up games. The pirate hat and vest are probably okay, but I wouldn't put too much money on the shirt at this point.

In any case, they're all size 5-ish, way too small for N, and getting too small for A.
O - that's a great idea. I'm totally down for the toy give away...well, that's what it would be for me. I need to PURGE...and I may even now be motivated to do it soon. I'll have some Thomas the Train stuff that's for sure.

Got nothing for the Halloween exchange. Most of El D's clothes and costumes I give to a local family.
I have 2 or 3 entire sets of Geotracks, with trains and controllers, loads of tracks and bridges, and various stations, loaders, and other bits and bobs that I cleaned out of the boys' room and haven't got a chance to get to the goodwill yet. It's all in really good condition--I think one of the controllers might have stickers on it and one of the mountains lost its railings, but that's about it. I'm willing to give them to a good home where they will get some use.
