Permalink Reply by Pauperfamilias on October 22, 2010 at 1:01pm We're compulsive thankers as well. I do thank PF regularly for working so hard to allow us the many of the freedoms that money can buy. I thank the boys for putting away the clothes (that PF usually washed and folded...and was thanked for). I thank PF for cooking dinner and doing dishes, and I get thanked for doing the grocery shopping.
Do we have to? Absolutely not. But how else can I show my kids that they need to be attentive to all the work that it takes to have a happy and successful family?
Thank you all for listening to me. I know that you have other things to do, and I appreciate your attention. I also really appreciate how this thread (like so many on OS) allows people to disagree without interpretting that as condemnation of a system that works well for you.
