Permalink Reply by ruth on September 3, 2009 at 5:22pm As for the breast pump, you probably don't need an electric one if you don't plan on taking any trips or anything, and if so they can always be rented from a hospital. It might be nice to have a little hand pump around, though, if you want to just pump a little bit so Sailor can feed the baby during the night and you can get a full night's sleep. It's a pain in the ass, but if pumping isn't difficult for you and you don't plan to have to do it much, it's a lot cheaper. In fact, I probably have mine laying around in our giant bag of bottle stuff. PM me if you want me to look, and if I still have it I'd be happy to send it to you.
Don't forget re: the stroller, the baby is going to need either a full fold-down kind, all of which are fairly big, or the kind that you can sit the carseat in. Those small umbrella strollers aren't good until the baby can sit up on her or his own.
Tricare might even pay for it. I'm sure you can get a doc to write a script for it.
